Fees and Payment

Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance does not cover the cost of outpatient consultations. Consultations will attract a rebate for those people who hold a valid Medicare card.

Out of pocket expenses (Surgical Gaps)

Dr Morrissey aims to keep health costs at a reasonable level. There is significant variation in the rebate for surgery between different health funds and as a result, some funds do attract out of pocket expenses.

It is our policy to provide all patients booked for surgery with an Informed Financial Consent which will clearly outline the total fee, health fund rebate and any out of pocket costs.

Medicare

Those patients with a valid Medicare card are entitled for a partial rebate from Medicare for both Inpatient and Outpatient services.

Consultation and in-room fees

Surgical procedure fees

Our fees have been developed in accordance with the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) as set out by the Australian Health Service Alliance (AHSA) and Medicare.

An informed financial consent outlining the anticipated surgical fee is provided to all patients prior to undertaking elective surgery.

It is strongly advised that the patient check with their health fund regarding their coverage prior to undertaking surgery to avoid unexpected costs.

Note: All payments are required at least 7 days prior to your procedure.
