Appointment Details

Appointments to see Dr Morrissey are available most days of the week and can be made by calling (07) 4632 3179.  Appointment requests can also be made via this website. All appointments will require a referral from your GP or another Specialist. If you feel that you have a number of issues to be addressed or complex issues to discuss, please inform the reception staff at the time of making the booking and an extended consultation can be planned.

What to expect at your consultation

Dr Morrissey will complete a full medical history and ear, nose and throat examination with regard to your concerns. This will often include an assessment of the nose and throat with a small camera. He will discuss the findings of the consultation with you and make recommendations as to how to address your concerns. Should you require further appointments, medications or surgery then this will be explained to you. 

Where surgery is recommended, Dr Morrissey will discuss the procedure with you as well as the risks and likely benefits. He will guide you through a consent process and answer any questions you may have. 

Fees and Charges 

Fees and charges will be discussed at the time you schedule your appointment. Payment for the consultation is required on the day. You may pay the fee via EFTPOS, credit card or cash. In most cases once payment is complete, we can electronically submit a rebate claim on your behalf to Medicare. 

During the consultation, any in-room procedures will be bulk billed. Some medical consumables such as “grommets” may attract an additional charge. You will be informed of any additional charges prior to the procedure. 

After the Consultation 

Dr Morrissey will provide you with instructions as to how best to address your particular concern. He will liaise with your referring doctor and any other relevant parties at your instruction. 

Should you have further questions arise after your consultation, please call (07) 4632 3179 to make an additional appointment or, alternatively, email admin@morrisseyent.com.au.  Simple questions may be answered via email but if a discussion is necessary in the opinion of Dr Morrissey, then he will request you make an appointment to discuss the matter further. 

Should you wish to have a second opinion regarding any aspects of your care then please inform Dr Morrissey and he will make available, with your permission, any records necessary and suggest an alternate Doctor. 

If you cannot attend 

Please call as early as possible as we have many patients on waiting lists eager to obtain an appointment with Dr Morrissey.

Parking 

There is limited duration free parking in the streets surrounding the practice but it can be busy. Please allow time to find a park.

There is also paid parking available under the Medici Medical Centre. Parking fees are payable via cash or credit card. There are no ATM facilities available within the Medici Medical Centre.
